FAQ

Here’s everything you need to know before working with us.

What design services does RDS 360 provide?

We provide concept design, interior design, and detailed design for multiple sectors including retail and commercial interiors. Our work bridges early stage ideas through to layouts and information that can be taken forward into technical design and delivery.

What is concept design?

Concept design establishes the core idea behind a space. It defines the look, feel and intent of the environment, including spatial hierarchy, material direction, lighting approach and customer experience before technical detailing begins.

How detailed is a concept design package?

Concept design is developed to clearly communicate intent without over-specifying. It typically includes layouts and zoning strategies (such as test fit or feasibility layouts); visual references and material direction; 3D views or visuals where required; and key design principles to guide later stages. The level of detail is tailored to suit the project stage and client needs.

What is the difference between concept design and interior design?

Concept design sets the direction. Interior design develops that direction into coherent, buildable solutions, addressing finishes, fixtures, spatial coordination and compliance while retaining the original design intent.

Do you design to brand guidelines?

Yes. We regularly design within existing brand standards, adapting them intelligently to suit individual sites, constraints and local requirements, all whilst maintaining consistency across portfolios and roll-outs.

Can you develop a new brand or store concept?

We can develop new interior concepts for emerging brands, pilots or refreshes. This includes defining spatial principles, material palettes and layout strategies that can be repeated and scaled across future locations.

How do you balance creativity with commercial requirements?

Our design process is grounded in real-world constraints. Every concept is tested against budget, buildability, operational needs and programme, this ensures ideas translate into spaces that work commercially as well as visually.

Do you consider customer flow and behaviour in your designs?

Yes. Customer journey and behaviour are central to our design thinking. We consider sightlines, dwell zones, circulation, queuing and merchandising to ensure the space performs as intended.

What sectors do you design for?

Whilst historically we are retail specialists, our design experience ranges across multiple sectors including workplace and commercial interiors, particularly where brand, efficiency and customer or colleague interaction are key drivers.

How do design and technical teams work together at RDS 360?

Design and technical teams work closely from the outset. This ensures that concepts are informed by accurate survey data and technical understanding reducing redesign, delays and risk later in the project.

Can you provide visuals and 3D views?

Yes. We produce 3D views and visualisations where they add value, helping stakeholders understand space, scale and intent. Visual output is always aligned with the project’s stage and purpose.

How early should we involve RDS 360 in the design process?

The earlier we’re involved, the more value we can add. Early engagement allows us to influence layout strategy, identify risks and ensure design decisions are informed by accurate information from the start.

Ready to Start Your Project?

From concept to completion, our design services are built around your goals. Whether you need support at a single stage or end-to-end design expertise, we'd love to hear about your project.
